Biography
Dr. Hammons is a board certified Ophthalmologist and specializes in plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, forehead, orbit and lacrimal system in adults and children. He has completed two additional years of training exclusively dedicated to the subspecialty of ophthalmic plastic surgery. As a nationally recognized leader in his field, Dr. Hammons routinely speaks and teaches at national meetings and is active in several professional organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Hammons was born in El Paso and grew up in Houston. He graduated from Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine. After completing his ophthalmology residency with distinction as Duke University Medical Center, he completed a two year ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Indiana University. Dr. Hammons has authored numerous journal articles in the ophthalmic plastic surgery literature.
